At its 2025 Community Day event, Ather Energy made a slew of announcements, including the unveiling of the EL01 concept, the new EL platform, the Redux concept and a major software upgrade. Among the highlights is the addition of an innovative cruise control system for the Ather 450 Apex.

    1. Cruise control is exclusive to the 450 Apex scooter
    2. The 450 Apex remains mechanically unchanged

    Ather Infinite Cruise details

Exclusive to 450 Apex, rolling out via OTA for 2025 owners

Called Infinite Cruise, the tech has been designed specifically for Indian riding conditions, with three systems integrated into it:

    • CityCruise: Can be activated from as low as 10kph and, unlike conventional systems, does not disengage when the rider brakes or changes speed. Instead, it seamlessly adapts to the new pace.
    • Hill Control: Manages torque delivery on climbs and uses regenerative braking on descents to maintain a steady speed.
    • Crawl Control: Maintains a consistent 10kph on rough surfaces and works in tandem with traction control for added stability.

Ather has confirmed that cruise control is exclusive to the Apex and won’t be rolled out to other models in its line-up. The 450 Apex already stands apart from the 450X with features like an additional Warp+ mode and transparent panels, and this update further strengthens its position as the company’s flagship model.

Mechanically, the 450 Apex continues unchanged, powered by a 7kW motor and 3.7kWh battery. Prices for the 450 Apex start at Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
