Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) has revealed the S1 LM, a special project under the British marque’s new “Special Vehicles” division. Inspired by the legendary McLaren F1 GTR that won Le Mans in 1995 (and designed by Murray), the S1 LM is a road-legal supercar based on the GMA T.50 and created exclusively for an unnamed client. Only five examples of the S1 LM will be made, with deliveries set to begin in 2026. No price has been announced yet.

    1. GMA S1 LM features many styling callbacks to the McLaren F1 GTR
    2. It gets a more stripped-out interior than the T.50, with seating for three
    3. The S1 LM is powered by a 4.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 and makes over 700hp

2025 GMA S1 LM exterior design

Heavily inspired by the F1 GTR.

The S1 LM’s styling and overall silhouette pay tribute to the F1 GTR, with clear visual nods like a roof scoop, quad exhaust setup, 5-spoke wheels, air vents behind the front fenders, four circular tail-lamps, and more. Compared to the T.50, the S1 LM’s body is made entirely of new carbon-fibre panels, featuring strakes, vents and sculpted lines that help improve aerodynamics.

It also gets outside rearview mirrors mounted on the A-pillar, slimmer headlights, a multi-piece rear wing, a lower roofline and ride height, a wider air dam up front, a completely redesigned rear end, and a larger splitter and rear diffuser. Notably, the S1 LM ditches the T.50’s distinctive rear fan but retains the butterfly doors.

Gets race-spec interior flourishes and hallmark 3-seat layout.

Inside, the S1 LM retains Gordon Murray’s signature 3-seat layout with a central driving position – first seen on the McLaren F1 and later on the T.50. Owing to its extreme credentials, the S1 LM’s cabin is more stripped out than that of the T.50, with a race-spec bucket seat in the centre, a race-spec steering wheel, heavy use of carbon fibre, simpler instrumentation, tartan upholstery with bright red accents, a vintage racer-style wooden gear shifter, and more.

2025 GMA S1 LM engine and gearbox

    Atmospheric 4.3-litre V12 revs to over 12,000rpm.

Power for the S1 LM comes from a 4.3-litre naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 – a slightly larger iteration of the T.50’s engine. The S1 LM’s V12 produces over 700hp, revs to a staggering 12,100rpm and is solid-mounted to improve cornering response. Moreover, the engine bay is lined with gold foil heat shielding, just like the McLaren F1 car.

The S1 LM’s engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, shared with the T.50 but tuned for the S1 LM. Combined with a bespoke suspension setup and lightweight chassis, GMA claims that the S1 LM offers a sharper and more track-focused driving experience than the T.50.
