KTM 160 Duke: FAQs on price, power and features

The KTM 160 Duke is the newest and most affordable entry in KTM’s line-up in India. Here are answers to some of the most common questions about it.

What engine does the KTM 160 Duke use?

The KTM 160 Duke is powered by a new 164cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 19hp at 9,500rpm and 15.5Nm at 7,500rpm. In our first ride, we found it to be a rev-happy motor that’s rewarding to push hard, yet its modest output and short gearing also make it tractable in the city.

How heavy is the KTM 160 Duke?

The KTM 160 Duke tips the scales at 147kg, making it 12kg lighter than the 200 Duke. This weight saving comes from slimmer frame tubes, a smaller 37mm USD fork, newly designed lightweight wheels, and a marginally lighter engine block.

What features does the KTM 160 have?

The KTM 160 Duke comes with an impressive feature set for a 160cc motorcycle. Highlights include a slipper clutch, supermoto ABS (which lets you disengage the rear ABS), full-LED lighting, and an LCD dash. Buyers can also opt for a Rs 5,140 Bluetooth module that connects the display to KTM’s smartphone app.

What is the price of the KTM 160 Duke?

The KTM 160 Duke is priced at Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes it just a few thousand rupees more than the discontinued 125 Duke, but with a significant step up in performance and equipment.

Which bikes rival the KTM 160 Duke?

The KTM 160 Duke was developed primarily to take on the Yamaha MT-15, with both bikes using liquid-cooled engines, sporty chassis, and premium features. However, its relatively premium pricing also places it alongside larger-capacity machines such as the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
