The Mahindra XUV 3XO and XUV700 SUVs continue to see high demand in the market, with the smaller compact SUV’s sales in FY2025 crossing the 1 lakh milestone, while the larger model hit its 2.5 lakh sales milestone at the start of the year. Usually, as demand surges, so does waiting periods, and that’s despite Mahindra’s efforts to increase production. In May, delivery times of the XUV 3XO and XUV700 have doubled for most variants, compared to the waiting periods in March.

    1. XUV 3XO MX2/MX2 Pro variants have the longest waiting periods
    2. XUV700 6-seat and dual tone variants’ delivery times are variable

Those who book their Mahindra XUV 3XO MX1 variant today would have to wait over a year for delivery; the entry-level variant's delivery times have increased marginally. However, those looking at the petrol-powered MX2 and MX2 Pro variants will have to wait up to three months, while the mid-spec petrol MX3, MX3 Pro, AX5 and AX5 L have waiting periods of up to two months. The top-spec petrol AX7 and AX7 L variants, along with all diesel variants, have delivery times of up to one month. These waiting periods have doubled since March 2025.

Mahindra’s answer to the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Skoda Kylaq is available with a 111hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol; a 131hp, 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol; and a 117hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine, each with an automatic gearbox option. Prices for the XUV 3XO start at Rs 7.99 lakh, and go up to Rs 15.80 lakh.

Compared to the up to two weeks wait times in March for most variants, the Mahindra XUV700 now commands delivery times of up to one month on most variants, regardless of the powertrain option selected. It should be noted that the waiting period for the top-spec XUV700 AX7 L is still one month, while variants with ESP, a 6-seat layout and dual-tone exterior options do not have a specified waiting period.

Mahindra launched the XUV700 Ebony in March, and confirmed that this would be the last update for its flagship ICE SUV. The MG Hector, Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Harrier and Safari rival is available with a 200hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 2.2-litre diesel in 155hp and 185hp states of tune; both get manual and automatic gearbox options. The XUV700’s price range is currently Rs 14.49 lakh-25.14 lakh.
