The Volkswagen Tayron is scheduled to launch in India in the latter half of 2025. It will be positioned as a three-row SUV and a successor to the discontinued Tiguan Allspace. Rivals for the Tayron include the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, and Citroรซn C5 Aircross. The Tayron will be locally assembled from CKD units at Volkswagenโs Aurangabad facility and is expected to be positioned below the Tiguan R-Line in terms of pricing. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine delivering 204hp and 320Nm of torque, coupled with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and an all-wheel drive system. Key features include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps and connected LED taillamps, a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, massaging front seats with ventilation and heating, ambient lighting, 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS technologies.
